Our Team

Jim Black: President/CEO and owner/manager of Black Electric Inc. for more than 20 years. Jim coordinates and oversees the team and workforce from the initial client meeting to the final project closeout. His goal is maintain a close relationship between himself, his team and his clients to foster a dedication to customer satisfaction unparalleled in the industry. He holds a master’s electrical license in Dutchess, Putnam, Weschester and Orange counties, and in Poughkeepsie.

Daphne Black: Vice president of Black Electric Inc. She oversees human resources, accounting, payroll and office management. Daphne has been in the home building and construction industry for 24 years, most recently as a builder and project manager of single-family homes.

Brian Sullivan: Project manager - Brian began working as an electrician in 1984. In 1987 he joined the Marine Corps as a helicopter mechanic based in California. He also served in Japan and the Philippines. He was later transferred to the Presidential Helicopter Squadron in Quantico and served under President George Bush Sr. on Marine One. He left the military in 1992 as a sergeant and returned to New York to resume his career as an electrician. Brian specializes in municipal water and sewer plants and high-end residential specialized installations, including Lutron lighting and photo-voltaic systems. He installed the commercial Lutron lighting Eco-System at Millbrook School's Math and Science Center and was project manager of the complete renovation project at Adams Fair Acre Farms in Poughkeepsie and Kingston. Brian has been with the company 15 years.
